Alto Monferrato:  what to see on the rolling hills between Piedmont and Liguria

The Alto Monferrato is a magical and fascinating land: what to see among the hills, vineyards, medieval castles, quaint towns and villages? In this area, especially famous for its excellent wines, you can see many beautiful and artistic landscapes among picturesque villages and rolling hills, which in the summer and spring are colored in yellow and green, white in winter and in the autumn with shades of red and brown.  Taking a deep in this land with romantic views of nature is an amazing and relaxing experience, while driving rocked by the slow curves that lead from one city to the next village, admiring the surrounding nature. The Alto Monferrato is a land of passage between the mountains of Piedmont and the Ligurian sea, a hilly land on the border between the two regions, rich in traditions and typical products.

"Nano Press Viaggi"

"Full of charme is Rocca Grimalda, dominating the vast Orba valley, built around the circolar tower at the beginning of '200 with Italian romantic and secret gardens.  The old village, in february becomes the set of the Lachera Carnival.  Dance and masks recall old traditions: the "lacchè" (servants) with flower hats, the "trapulin" (harlechins), the "zuavi",the groom and bride, the warriar and the baby (bebè), the country girls and the  "mulattieri". " (From the newspaper Corriere della Sera, 5 november 2015, supplement ItaliePiemonte, p.33)
